A huge thank you to everyone who supported our crowdfunding campaign! We successfully raised over $40,000 in 30 days.
Our crowdfunding success through ING Australia's Dreamstarter program has ensured we can now launch Bertonni, and create immediate meaningful employment for our first two team members, Marshall and Simon.
We are now setting up for production to fulfil the crowdfunding pledges, so please sign up to our newsletter so we can let you know when our online store opens.
We Create Meaningful Employment
Employment has been identified as a crucial factor in ending the cycle of homelessness, but finding and keeping suitable employment can pose a serious challenge. Bertonni's mission is to create meaningful, long-term, life changing employment for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
As well as financial independence, meaningful employment provides positive social interactions, improved physical and mental health, and a pathway to transition out of disadvantage. It also helps build the soft skills that can often be missing, such as self-confidence, self-awareness, and the ability to structure a day.
We Create Products That Empower
We design and manufacture timeless and elegant porcelain products, beginning with our range of beautiful homewares. We use the highest quality Australian porcelain, and our products are designed and made to last many lifetimes.
Our porcelain homewares are manufactured using slipcasting, a production technique in which a fluid mixture of clay and water is poured into plaster molds. Each piece is hand polished to give a smooth satin finish.
Our employees are involved in the many aspects of production. They are taught technical ceramics skills, as well as the art of craftsmanship.
The Inaugural Collection
Our first collection is comprised of a series of homeware products which includes a large flower vase, a fruit bowl, and a trio of vases. Our initial pieces will be available in white or black porcelain.
Bertonni has been selected as one of seven social enterprises to take part in ING Australia's Dreamstarter program. Our crowdfunding campaign is now live until July 18, where our Inaugural Collection is available for pre-order.
Support Bertonni by pledging to pre-order a piece, or helping to spread the word through your family, friends, and broader network.
